Role Overview:
As an Intern GenAI Data Engineer Intern, you will contribute to our organizational success by:
• Learning to build generative AI capabilities that empower FanDuel teams through scalable data pipelines and AI infrastructure
• Working alongside engineers with expertise in generative AI, Machine Learning, Python, and Data Warehouse in an agile environment
• Developing your technical skills on real data and AI challenges with guidance from senior team members
• Collaborating cross-functionally to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions
Exposure to emerging innovative technologies in business applications is an advantage!
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• Contribute as an effective member of a scrum team
• Assist in developing agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and data integrations that power generative AI applications
• Write and maintain technical specifications for AI and data solutions
• Identify and communicate risks and issues to the Engineering Manager
Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:
• Familiarity with SQL concepts
• Knowledge of object-oriented or functional programming, ideally Python
• Basic awareness of AI or machine learning concepts is a plus
• Strong communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Eager to learn, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Skills:
• Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Familiarity with data science and ML tooling (e.g. NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and foundational concepts such as search algorithms and optimization techniques
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks or generative AI concepts
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
