Role overview:

The role of Infrastructure Product Owner within the Platform Reliability Services area of Infrastructure & Platforms focuses on improving the reliability, observability, scalability, and operational effectiveness of the core services that engineering and operational teams rely on.

This role supports a broad range of services across observability, database services, performance and reliability tooling, helping ensure teams have the visibility, insight, and foundational services needed to build and operate resilient products at scale.

You’ll act as the key link between internal users, stakeholders, and delivery teams, with a strong focus on prioritisation, coordination, and delivery execution. You’ll help shape and maintain a well-prioritised backlog aligned to both strategic goals and operational needs, ensuring teams are focused on delivering meaningful and actionable improvements.

Working closely with engineering teams, Heads Of, architects, wider stakeholders, and fellow Product Owners across Infrastructure & Platforms, you’ll contribute to roadmap planning while balancing longer-term platform outcomes with the day-to-day delivery priorities of a fast-moving environment.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritise backlogs across Platform Reliability Services, supporting observability, database, and operational reliability products and services

  • Translate technical and operational needs into clear, actionable user stories and delivery priorities

  • Work closely with engineering and operational teams to improve platform reliability, visibility, scalability, and operational efficiency

  • Partner closely with other Product Owners across Infrastructure & Platforms to align priorities, manage dependencies, and support joined-up delivery outcomes

  • Shape and maintain a clear, prioritised backlog that reflects customer needs, platform priorities, dependencies, and measurable value

  • Support delivery teams through backlog refinement, planning activities, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment

  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and sequence work to maximise delivery efficiency and reduce friction

  • Support onboarding, adoption, and continuous improvement of platform tooling and services

  • Contribute to roadmap shaping and prioritisation alongside Heads Of and engineering leadership

  • Act as a central point of coordination for stakeholder feedback, operational priorities, and platform improvement opportunities

  • Engage with stakeholders across engineering, infrastructure, operational, and delivery functions to ensure alignment and visibility

  • Support operational readiness and rollout activities for new platform services and improvements

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required

We’re looking for someone with most of the following:

  • Experience working as a Product Owner (or similar role) within a technical, infrastructure, or platform-focused environment

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, delivery leads, Product Owners, and stakeholders across multiple areas

  • Comfortable managing and prioritising complex backlogs with multiple technical dependencies and competing priorities

  • Good working understanding of infrastructure and cloud concepts such as observability, databases, cloud platforms, automation, platform engineering, or operational tooling

  • Experience using Jira and Confluence to manage backlogs, delivery workflows, documentation, and stakeholder visibility

  • Ability to operate confidently in technical conversations without needing deep engineering expertise

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with other Product Owners and engineering teams

  • A pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance strategic goals alongside immediate delivery needs

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating closely with technical delivery teams

  • Comfortable working in environments with ambiguity, changing priorities, and evolving operational needs
