Role Overview:
The role of Senior Data Product Owner consists of being the main interaction point between Product & Technology teams. You will bridge technical and business worlds as you continually deliver improvements and innovative features across the full range of products. The role keeps abreast of Flutter's wider strategic aspirations (business focused, connecting with global, influencing brand strategies where data is concerned). You will have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive the product experience. Your outstanding communication skills will be key, adapting to a high paced environment and constant interactions with a diverse group of collaborators. You will be expected to work on complex cross domain projects, providing direction and guidance to other Product Owners involved.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- You'll lead on setting out the long-term vision and priorities for your Data Product area
- Define measurable Data Product objectives and success metrics to achieve the Product strategy
- In depth understanding of product/commercial needs and how these are translated into functional and technical requirements
- Elicit requirements from a broad range of collaborators, refining them into user stories for tech teams
- Understand and balance commercial needs against technical requirements and capabilities.
- Conducts analysis on projects involving multiple teams across several business areas
- Challenge requirements that do not fit the owned product's general strategy. Address conflicts with other collaborators or product areas. Seek to resolve and reach mutual outcomes.
- Identify dependencies between requirements and product areas, while ensuring transparency for all parties
- Identify risks and raise concerns in due time where applicable; ensuring mitigation options are clearly articulated
- Maintain a groomed and prioritized backlog of user stories for projects with multiple dependencies, retaining focus on the agreed scope of the iteration
- Work with the squad leadership to remove blockers for the squad
- Understand the dependencies between technology components and how they combine to deliver solutions to the end consumer and to the business
- Work closely with Product Managers to keep initiatives aligned with the product strategy in their area. Contribute to operational readiness for new releases and provide product training to collaborators. Ensure all solutions meet company standards for performance, security, compliance, and social responsibility.
- Contribute to clear stakeholder communication and management
- Provide coaching & guidance to less experienced members of the team
Capabilities & Experience Required:
- Proven extensive experience within a similar Product focused role
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Able to communicate with stakeholders at any level within the business.
- Strong experience in defining business requirements within a technology organization
- Experience working within a multi-product organization
- Experience collaborating closely with collaborators from all levels of the business and influencing decision making through proactive suggestions & challenge
- Ability to relate to both business, design & technical specialists
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
- Experience in working across Agile methodologies
- Experience with integrating 3rd party feed providers
- Resilience and confidence under pressure, maintaining a positive attitude despite adversity
- Customer obsessed - You are passionate about designing and building market leading user experiences driven by data
- Problem solver - You have strong business, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. You creatively solve problems by understanding the customer, identifying obstacles and proposing viable solutions
