Flutter Technology are recruiting a cloud engineer to drive the implementation, automation, and operation of our AWS cloud platform. The platform will underpin the global services consumed by the groups well-known betting brands.

The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. Flutter's Procurement function governs over $6bn of third-party spend across divisions, regions and brands. It is supported by Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management, Supplier Risk and Due Diligence teams.

The Procurement Data and Insights team sits alongside these groups to convert raw data into reliable, actionable intelligence for decision making and value delivery.

Reporting to the Senior Data Engineer, the Data Engineer supports the build and operation of procurement data pipelines, governance and analytics on the Databricks platform. The role executes technical work packages defined by the manager, contributing to stable pipelines, well documented datasets and the controls that underpin self-service analytics across Procurement.

The Data Engineer is a hands-on contributor focused on building craft in pipeline development, SQL, data modelling and platform operations. The role works under the technical direction of the manager, with scope to take increasing ownership of defined data products as capability is demonstrated. • Execute the product roadmap and backlog. Translate epics into technical work packages and sprint plans.

Data Governance & Architecture

As part of Flutter Functions, you will collaborate closely with development teams, infrastructure specialists, and business stakeholders to maintain the high-performance, scalable systems that power our iGaming & Sports platforms across multiple markets. You will be the subject matter expert responsible for implementing and maintaining enterprise-grade observability, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities across our AWS Cloud tenancy.

The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of SRE best practices with public cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure our systems maintain high availability, enable rapid recovery from incidents, and deliver comprehensive observability across our platform. A leadership position within the Sportsbet division with primary accountability for the delivery of customer outcomes, aligned with organisation's strategic priorities.

This includes wide range of initiatives that aim to deliver best in class customer journeys that make up the Customer Lifecycle roadmap.

The Engineering Manager will be accountable for one delivery team of up to 8 people with diverse skillsets who utilise agile ways of working to deliver and support Sportsbets Customer Lifecycle Delivery.

As an Engineering Manager, keeping a focus on growing individuals, building team dynamics, prioritising a platform backlog with multiple inputs, enabling delivery teams, and collaborating across a wide range of functions are key success factors.

Manage appropriate relationships with, and governance of, any third party vendors involved in the delivery of customer outcomes.

This role requires exceptional communication skills, as interaction and engagement with senior management will be a regular aspect of the role. This is a technical role, with experience in all aspects of software delivery processes, from inception to release required.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Leadership (People)

• Manage stakeholder expectations to facilitate intake and reporting of work
• Organise and facilitate all key scrum ceremonies, including feature inception, daily stand up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning demos and other scrum related ceremonies
• Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
• Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition
• Work with other engineering managers to manage releases into production
