About Flutter Functions
The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. The division encompasses various corporate functions, including finance, legal, human resources, technology, and more, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment throughout the company.
Role overview:
Flutter Technology are recruiting a FinOps Analyst to bridge the gap between finance, operations, and cloud engineering teams to ensure cost-efficient and scalable cloud usage. You will play a critical role in managing cloud expenditures, optimizing cloud investments, and driving financial accountability across teams in our greenfield AWS cloud platform, that underpins services consumed by the groups well-known betting brands.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the FinOps processes & procedures implemented across our AWS Cloud Platform. As a member of our “Cloud Enablement” function, you will empower teams to adopt cloud services efficiently, securely, and in alignment with business objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
The right candidate will have experience working with enterprise organisations developing & maturing their FinOps practices.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Monitoring cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities
Lead and contribute towards our FinOps Community of Practice
Developing and implementing strategies to optimize cloud costs
Collaborating with finance, operations, and technology teams to drive cost optimization initiatives
Managing & monitoring cloud finance budgets
Recommending changes to cloud service usage, pricing models, and purchasing options
Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast and track cloud costs
BAU financial Cloud management
Creating reports and dashboards to track and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders
Collaborating with other divisional FinOps teams to promote shared & best practices
Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:
Cloud computing expertise: A strong understanding of AWS cloud computing services, including cloud infrastructure, software, and platform as a service (IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS)
Financial management skills: Knowledge of financial management principles and experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, including experience in financial modelling and cost analysis
Data analysis skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning
Collaboration and communication skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, operations, technology and our AWS account team, to achieve cost optimization goals
Experience with FinOps practices: Experience implementing and maintaining FinOps practices and methodologies, including knowledge of cost optimization frameworks such as AWS Well-Architected Framework, and experience using FinOps tools and platforms
Knowledge of industry regulations: Familiarity with industry regulations such as GDPR and SOX and their impact on FinOps procedures & processes
Cloud Governance: Understanding of policies and best practices for cloud governance and compliance
Experience:
Experience with AWS optimisation & FinOps tooling such as Cost Explorer, QuickSight CID & AWS Trusted Advisor
Familiarity with AWS pricing models, cost optimization strategies, and billing systems
Proficiency in data analytics & BI tools such as Excel & QuickSight
Basic knowledge of scripting & coding languages
Experience with enterprise financial systems
Experience in creating, tracking, and optimizing budgets for IT and cloud spend
Knowledge of cost allocation methods and showback/chargeback models in a cloud environment
Experience identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities such as, right-sizing, savings plans, reserved and spot instances
Experience working cross-functionally with finance, IT, and engineering teams to align goals
Experience of vendor management, ideally including AWS
