We are looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, highly skilled Quality Assurance professional to join our great team of data engineers in building high-end, high quality applications in large scale low latency data environments (100TB+ in size).
You will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment where you will team up with colleagues having experience in Data Warehouse, Machine Learning and more.
The successful candidate should have good technical and problem solving skills, a positive and results driven attitude, a good communicator who can interact with both technical and non-technical people.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Functional Testing of Data Integration & Reporting solutions.
- E2E testing - from source data stores through to reports, including test data set up.
- Partner with the Product Owner to ensure suitable understanding of requirements and design testing strategies.
- Review acceptance criteria for user stories & ensure required test coverage.
- Own defect management lifecycle and collaborate with data engineers to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues.
- Design & develop repeatable, automated test cases.
- Drive Test Driven Development practices.
- Drive Environments best practices.
- Own data delivery regression test pack.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design and execute test cases.
- Experience and knowledge in designing, developing, and executing test plans for ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
- Strong knowledge of testing data transformations, integrations and migrations.
- Understanding of data lineage audits.
- Experience of database technologies like Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, Redshift, Databricks or other
- Experience of Agile software development practices.
- Proven diagnostic and debugging skills.
- Experience in writing SQL.
- Problem solving skills.
Desirable:
- Exposure to Test Automation
- Experience of Hands-On testing in the data space is a plus
