Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead QA Engineer to join FanDuel, where your role will be instrumental in completing and driving the strategic roadmap for the Promotions area. This versatile opportunity allows you to work with a dedicated team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality assurance solutions.

Key accountabilities:

Automation & Performance Capability

  • Lead the development of automation frameworks to maintain or enhance our delivery pipeline capabilities in both backend and frontend areas in collaboration with other QA leads.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to maintain the automation strategies agreed upon for the entire Casino.
  • Maintain and improve current automation statistics (e.g., Jira Dashboard, Excel) to ensure updated visibility on the status.
  • Be an active member of the Casino Leads group and testing guild, contributing innovative solutions.
  • Create automation roadmaps to improve delivery efficiency and reduce manual testing needs, enabling a leaner delivery process.
  • Provide tooling recommendations to engineering teams to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Improve the monitoring system regarding Automation tests to ensure flawless performance.
  • Support and provide guidance to the testing guild in terms of standard methodologies and innovative approaches.
  • Maintain regular code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Proactively tackle challenges related to automation and implement effective solutions.
  • Take ownership of the performance testing strategy for the Promotions area, ensuring world-class performance standards.

Leadership

  • Provide comprehensive 360 feedback to the workstream QAs twice a year to help them grow and excel.
  • Delegate responsibilities to QA workstream representatives and ensure that deadlines are strictly met.
  • Actively participate with other QA leads in the company’s and vertical testing guild, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Technical Competencies

  • Proven experience and knowledge in testing API and Web Services.
  • Strong knowledge in performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or K6.
  • Background in mobile testing.
  • Experience with AWS services and containerization (e.g., Docker, API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions).
  • Proficient in using monitoring tools like Datadog.
  • Good knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with implementing CI/CD processes using Jenkins or Buildkite.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java and Typescript.
  • Good knowledge of Python.

Key experience & qualifications

  • 6+ years of software delivery experience, demonstrating a track record of success.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing testers to achieve exceptional results.
