We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Team Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of data scientists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work, and driving continuous improvement within the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, as well as experience managing a team of data scientists. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data science products and provide strategic recommendations to optimize business processes and drive growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data scientists, providing mentorship and guidance to drive performance and career growth
- Develop and implement data science strategies to support business objectives and drive data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data science projects
- Oversee the design and implementation of machine learning algorithms and models
- Ensure that data science projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Stay current on industry trends and drive innovation within the team
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and communicate project progress and results effectively
- Take ownership of data science work in production, ensuring performance and quality standards are met.
Requirements:
1. Education: Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data science or similar role, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering data-driven projects. At least 2 years in a team lead or management role.
3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Experience with statistical analysis, data mining, and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or SQL.
- Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
- Experience with ML clouds such as AWS, GCP, or Azure would be considered a plus
4. Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically, interpret complex data, and derive actionable insights.
5. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
6.Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing data science projects, working with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior team members.
7. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
8. Continuous Learning: A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and related fields.
