As part of Flutter's International division, you will contribute to the success of the PokerStars brand. We are on an exciting journey; as part of the Flutter group, we form a key part of the world's largest Betting and Gaming company. We are expanding our team to support our ambitious cloud adoption roadmap.
As DevOps Manager you will lead the DevOps team to support our production services as well as enable our development teams to evolve our services. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing Account and Payments services and contribute to the implementation of our cloud strategy, governance, and best practices to transform the business using the public cloud.

The Role
The DevOps Manager will focus on leading the DevOps team whilst supporting our pivot from on-premises hosting of infrastructure to cloud-based infrastructure as well as supporting our existing applications and infrastructure. This role will have heavy involvement in defining the infrastructure & network requirements for implementing the cloud infrastructure for the entire PAM tribe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the DevOps team fostering team capabilities, career progression, and cohesion with wider tribe.
  • Champion operational excellence within the tribe and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in reliability, stability, observability, and capacity.
  • Define and maintain operational readiness standards and work with teams to close any gaps.
  • Responsibility for the raising and monitoring of risks.
  • Track and monitor vulnerabilities.
  • Implement effective monitoring and alerting of our services, using these metrics to ensure performance and reliability
  • Create and maintain quality technical documentation
  • Be able to articulate and influence solution decision-making with technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Collaborate with PAM development teams to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and deployment processes
  • Automate build, deployment, and scaling of applications using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Continuously improve and optimize infrastructure and processes
  • Participate in Operational and an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability of systems
  • Resource estimations for projects and software releases
  • Provide help and guidance to other DevOps and operational staff

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You'll have a technical background that's given you a broad range of experience and an understanding of operational best practices in software engineering.
  • Proven experience of people management within a technical team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native operations, technologies, principles, and infrastructure as code
  • Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • An understanding of incident response, post-incident review processes, and implementing preventive measures.
  • You'll be curious and look into how things work and how you might be able to work with others to improve and optimise.
  • Experience in application and infrastructure security, particularly within the cloud
  • Understanding of Security principals and best practices
