The role:


We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our lively and dynamic Sportsbet team based out of our office in Cluj-Napoca.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Project Manager with strong technical knowledge to participate in technical and architectural discussions and support the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring successful outcomes. This role will take the lead in cross functional engagement, orchestrating collaboration between product and engineering, responsible for delivering projects according to product roadmap priorities. Senior Project Managers at Sportsbet need to be highly adaptable as our projects are diverse and include product, digital, ‘big data,’ compliance, application and infrastructure related initiatives. You name it, you could be leading it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Projects in alignment with Sportsbet project delivery methodology

  • Managing projects with multiple streams across the breadth of the entire Business (not just technology), and often managing multiple projects at one time

  • Joining the dots within IT to understand the dependencies across multiple initiatives and delivery / business functions

  • Articulate the project objectives and success measures – driving clarity from ambiguity

  • Responsible for identifying and managing project schedule, dependencies, resourcing, risks and issues and managing any conflicts

  • Accountable for the timely, relevant and consistent reporting on project progress through visual dashboards and sharing relevant insights for senior management and executive teams

  • Ensuring projects are properly planned, communicated and monitored throughout the project lifecycle in alignment with the portfolio end to end delivery process

  • Ensuring projects are retrospectively reviewed in line with continual improvement process

  • Ownership of the project delivery experience, including management of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation – including local and international stakeholders

  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organisation

  • Creation of presentation materials and attendance at project governance forums

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and product development teams to define and deliver high-quality products and features through the full software development lifecycle

  • Ask critical questions about the why of a process, pare back to minimum viable process when needed, and influence adherence to agreed-upon standards

  • Chair regular governance forums (e.g. team stand-ups, steering committees) to review progress with key constituents

  • Demonstrating Sportsbet values in all interactions, including taking a customer first and last approach and continuously reflecting, learning, and improving.

  • Be a champion for the continual evolution Sportsbet’s project delivery practices with an emphasis on agile delivery

  • Build the brand of the project delivery team at Sportsbet as a key partner that values rapid, high quality outcomes for our customers

  • Ensure project delivery practices support and enhance the evolution of Sportsbet’s agile practices

  • Create an environment where project teams are empowered to make their own decisions to ensure rapid delivery by providing context on the business drivers and overall needs of the project/ program of work

  • Bring best practice outside of the organisation to improve our practices and deliver benefit to the organisation

  • Build a sustainable delivery practice that is able to meet Sportsbet’s changing demands.

Technical expertise and knowledge:

  • Master of multiple delivery practices including agile practices (e.g. Scrum & Kanban)

  • Adaptability and creativity of delivery frameworks based on the needs of the project

  • Solid understanding and expertise in Project Management delivery (planning, estimating, reporting) and strategy – PMP certification or Prince2 certification is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and related experience

Experience:

  • 5+ years of project management experience ranging from defining scope through to successful delivery and transition to BAU.

  • Experience working with a broad range of projects and stakeholders.

  • Experience managing projects and programs with multiple streams of work spanning across the entire Business (not purely Technology)

  • Significant Agile/lean experience with Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role ideally in an IT Engineering with a proven track record of providing the technical, interpersonal and management skills required to produce results

  • Experience with orchestration and management of highly sophisticated business structures, able to work in a highly functional environment of technical folk who each own their own area of expertise
