Position Summary
A leadership position within the Sportsbet division with primary accountability for the delivery of customer outcomes, aligned with organisation's strategic priorities.
This includes wide range of initiatives that aim to deliver best in class customer journeys that make up the Customer Experience roadmap.
The Senior Delivery Manager will be accountable for at least 2 delivery teams of up to 8 people with diverse skillsets who utilise agile ways of working to deliver and support Sportsbets Customer Experience Delivery.
As a Senior Delivery Manager, keeping a focus on growing individuals, building team dynamics, prioritising a platform backlog with multiple inputs, enabling delivery teams, and collaborating across a wide range of functions are key success factors.
Manage appropriate relationships with, and governance of, any third party vendors involved in the delivery of customer outcomes.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, as interaction and engagement with senior management will be a regular aspect of the role. This is a technical role, with experience in all aspects of software delivery processes, from inception to release required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership (People)
- Role model Sportsbet's values and leadership behaviours e.g collaborative, facilitative, demonstrating a bias toward delivery

- Set objectives with the team consistent with the performance framework which promote individual, team and organisational outcomes
- Ensure team members receive regular feedback via 1:1s and other conversations

- Understand the learning objectives of the team and ensure needs are met
Leadership (Delivery)
- Create an environment where delivery teams are empowered to self-manage
- Manage Product Backlogs to ensure alignment with customer outcome and provide delivery insight (estimates & progress, risks/issues, dependencies, etc.).
- Provide ongoing insight to stakeholders on feature progress and/or team health
- Align with other delivery Teams to ensure cross team collaboration through mechanisms such as Scrum of Scrums
- Manage stakeholder expectations to facilitate intake and reporting of work
- Organise and facilitate all key scrum ceremonies, including feature inception, daily stand up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning demos and other scrum related ceremonies
- Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition
- Work with other delivery managers to manage releases into production

Stakeholders
- Open engagement with the CET leadership group to ensure cohesive approach to delivery across the customer experience teams
- Proactively establish and build relationships with portfolio and engagement function to facilitate the flow of inbound delivery and reporting
- Work with members of the delivery community and competency groups to contribute to the growth and development of Sportsbet's delivery practices
- Proactively establish relationships with product owners and leaders within the Product Management organization and wider Sportsbet business

Technical Competencies
- Proven experience in a role leading a cross functional design, delivery and support team of 8+ technical experts
- A respected Technology leader with strong communication experience, ideally across time zones
- Innovative technical design and creative of technical specifications
- Balance the commercial need against technology capabilities
- Development life-cycle, development standards and management of the technical risks
- Experience and knowledgeable in:
- front end technologies(React/React Native) and client-server communication
- native mobile technologies and mobile app development
- basic AWS concepts and services such as VPC, EC2, ECS, Cloud formation, RDS, etc. and Serverless architecture e.g., Lambda
- design and develop highly available, scalable and reliable AWS based systems
- microservice based architecture and event-driven architecture
- enterprise application development
- test automation and relevant frameworks and libraries
- CI/CD and relevant tools and technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Ansible Script
- Kafka or other streaming technologies
Experience
- Delivery leadership experience within e-commerce and Agile environments of high volume / throughput and complexity (e.g of product, stakeholders)
- Ideally 3+ years' experience in similar role
