As part of the group Strategic Platforms function, the Associate DevOps Architect will be part of the team accountable for the gbp and CPP platform adoption process. Reporting to the Implementation Manager, they will have an initial focus on CPP. The Implementation team supply the required level of oversight, support and guidance providing the vision and direction for effective platform adoption, consulting Group Divisions on:

Adoption process best practices, standards, tooling, and automation

Structured adoption planning

Structured resource planning

The integration process of the gbp and CPP capabilities
As an Associate DevOps Architect, you will be supporting adopting divisions on the optimal strategies for platform capability service hosting, continuous integration, continuous deployment, metric collection and tooling. All the above is done having into consideration divisional specific requirements.
What you’ll be doing…

Establish relationships with key divisional stakeholders

Support divisional platform adoption and maintenance projects helping to identify and mitigate known risks

Support platform teams with divisional platform adoption and maintenance projects statuses
-
Work with divisional technical teams to document deployment models, tooling and patterns
-
Refine deployment documentation into reusable blueprints
-
Provide support and guidance on blueprints and adoption process
-
Support the shared development process in terms of operability needs by breaking down complex divisional requirements related to scalability, performance, stability and tooling of the supported platforms

Support divisional specific integration of software components into a fully functional software system
-
Support ongoing maintenance and software life-cycle upgrades
-
Write well-designed, testable and efficient code
-
Support the implementation team’s internal technical needs by developing automation and solutions to simplify administrative work
We’d love to see…

Proven experience in DevOps methodologies
-
Understanding of SRE methodologies and best practices
-
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc
-
Experience with CI/CD solution design and implementation preferably in Jenkins, GoCD and GitHub Actions
-
Proven experience in organisational adoption processes of complex software systems based on service-oriented architectures from an Operational perspective is preferential;

Linux systems administration;
-
Scripting experience including bash, python or ruby scripting
-
Configuration management experience, preferably ansible or chef
-
Understanding of message queueing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ and etc

Knowledge of Scala, Memcached, Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, ZooKeeper

Experience in using established operational and software design patterns

Awareness and experience in using agile methodologies
-
Technical experience in managing highly available and highly scalable cloud environments
-
Hands-on knowledge of container technologies, such as Docker, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes
-
Strong desire to automate and simplify your way out of technical challenges
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
