Lead Product Manager - Sportsbet

Position Details

A Lead Product Manager is accountable for delivering brilliant products and experiences for customers across Sportsbet's native and web applications, as well as growing the existing product portfolio.

The Lead Product Manager will be accountable for a team of Product Executives with diverse areas of ownership across the product portfolio, working together with delivery teams in Cluj and other product management representatives from Melbourne.

As a Lead Product Manager, keeping a focus on growing individuals, building team dynamics, prioritising a product backlog with multiple inputs, enabling delivery teams, and collaborating across a wide range of functions are key success factors.

Position Summary
  • Deliver brilliant customer experiences to Sportsbet customers
  • Lead innovation to identify new product opportunities and optimise existing products
  • Develop product roadmaps that ensure Sportsbet delivers maximum value to customers and the business
  • Understand and contribute to the business strategy for a PM's team and the company overall
  • Lifecycle management of in-market products ensuring ongoing value creation, including leading GTM activities to launch and grow the product portfolio
  • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholder groups across Design, Marketing, Risk & Trading, Operations and Product Delivery
  • Undertake market and competitor analysis, continuously assessing product strengths and weaknesses to inform strategic direction

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership (People)
  • Role model Sportsbet's values and leadership behaviours e.g collaborative, facilitative, demonstrating a bias toward delivery
  • Set objectives with the team consistent with the performance framework which promote individual, team and organisational outcomes
  • Ensure team members receive regular feedback via 1:1s and other conversations
  • Being a sought out and collaborative member of the Product Management team
  • Understand the learning objectives of the team and ensure needs are met
New Product Development
  • Identify customer problems and make informed decisions on solving problems which have the highest impact.
  • Facilitate the ideation of new product ideas and analyse feasibility to ensure that Sportsbet pursues initiatives that deliver maximum value to customers and the business.
  • Lead and manage your products from idea to launch, getting the business behind the idea and working with stakeholders to help articulate and design the experience
  • Work with research teams to test and validate new ideas and experiences
  • Define MVP for major initiatives, working with Product Owners managing trade-off between suite of possible functionality, time and cost to market.
  • Collaborate with multiple areas of the business, including Marketing, Brand, Risk & Trade, and Customer Service to create go-to-market plans that ensure the adoption and usage of products is maximised.
Product Lifecycle Management
  • Lifecycle management of in-market products ensuring ongoing value creation is sustained
  • Proactively analyse and report on product and portfolio performance
  • Monitor competitor and market activity, continuously assessing strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for the portfolio
  • Initiate GTM activities to drive growth across the product portfolio
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap
  • Define success metrics at the outset of new product development
Innovation & Experimentation
  • Lead innovation throughout the business
  • Lead experimentation initiatives to explore new possibilities for product usage, and enhance the experience for our customers
  • Leverage innovation frameworks to continuously create new experiences and products for customers

  • Solid understanding of product development and product lifecycle management practices
  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders to drive business outcomes and optimise product in market
  • Familiarity with Lean Start Up/ Agile software development principles
Experience
  • Solid understanding of product development and product lifecycle management practices
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong verbal and visual presentation skills
  • Commercial ability to produce business case and ROI projections for initiatives and to assess actual performance against projections
  • Ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders to drive business outcomes and optimise product in market
  • Familiarity with Lean Start Up/ Agile software development principles
